As at April 4, 2011 there were 3.904.420 active Facebook users in South Africa. We are pretty sure that South Africa will hit the 4 million user mark this month.
143.260 people joined the social network within the last month which corresponds to a growth of 4 % compared to the Facebook stats in March. Currently, there are more South African men (79.420) who join Facebook than women (65.440).
By looking at the demographics you can see that South African people from 18 to 24 years of age form the largest group on Facebook (33 %). Users between 25-34 years make up 31 % of all South Africans on Facebook:
